Topic: A Review of Modern Polyamide Hair Implant – Procedural Technique,
Innovations and Applications
Abstract:
Introduction
The problem of alopecia affects both sexes and all ages with significant psychological discomfort.
Hair transplantation is a soft surgery technique which is performed under local anaesthesia that enables
an aesthetic result and the desired quantity of hair without pain, scars or hospitalization.
It can be used for diffuse hair loss or hair thinning.
Correct hair implant procedure needs to keep into consideration: safe medical fibers, suitable implant
instruments, appropriate medical protocols, proper after care.
Method
Hair transplantation can be progressed through 4 phases:
1/ Evaluation and Diagnosis : through history taking, clinical examination and necessary investigations
including blood test and psychological analysis.
2/ Donor Harvesting : by FUT or FUE technique
3/ Placement
4/ Post Surgical : Medical checks and correct after care have to be applied.
5/ A review bout new modern hair implant (Bio Fibre) after 2 years
Complication and management
The complications related to the hair transplant (infection, inflammation) occur in limited cases (less than
4%) normally caused by lack of proper after care and are solvable with appropriate antibiotic and / or
steroids therapy. Lost hair can be replaced in order to maintain the desired aesthetic result.
Conclusions and Results
Hair transplantation can be considered a safe and effective atraumatic technique that allows to obtain
aesthetic result and a high density of hair without scars or hospitalization.
This technique is used successfully in men and women at every baldness stage either as single
procedure or also in combination with medicine, vitamins and nutrions. Aesthetic result obtained with
this procedure was very encouraging for male and female patient. They recovered many self-esteem and
benefits from great psichological comfort
