Topic: Laser for Photoaging Reversal and Facial Rejuvenation
Abstract:
The non-ablative laser toning has been popularized for facial rejuvenation. However, some side effects
such as post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation (PIH) and the flaring-up are issues of concern to Asian
patients.
In the new era for picosecond laser, we have demonstrated whether three or five of picosecond 755-nm
alexandrite laser with a diffractive lens array (DLA), a great efficacy for photoaging reversal in Asian
patients. The improvement in wrinkles, texture, pores, UV spots, brown spots, especially in spots and
porphyrins were also observed with VISIA imaging analysis.
Our series of study with “VISIA" analysis also had shown the signs of facial rejuvenation by applicating ps
755-nm alexandrite laser with DLA, which generates laser induced break down (LIOB). The epidermal
repair process and the dermal remodeling is the possible biomedical pathway but further in-vivo animal
model investigation is still needed.
Keywords: laser induced optical breakdown, picosecond alexandrite laser, facial rejuvenation
