Topic: Medial Suspension of OOM Flap in Lower Blepharoplasty
Abstract:
For the treatment of lower blepharoplasty, we can use infraciliary incision with lateral muscle suspension
or transconjunctival approach with cutaneous laser peering in treating skin laxity, plus septal fat
reposition or fat graft injection in smoothening nasojugal groove. Are there other creative ideas that work
outside of these methods? Nearly 20 years ago, I developed a method of using medial muscle
suspensions to tighten the skin while addressing the nasojugal groove. In the following, I will explain
about the logic and operation method of this type of surgery. The medial suspension of OOM is an easy,
effective, and safe method especially when repositioning of retroseptal fat pad can’ t fill the volume
deficiency of nasojugal groove, and is more reliable than lateral suspension.
