Topic: Combination Treatment Using Devices and Fillers for Sagging
Abstract:
At our fasility, we perform combination treatment using high-intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU)
equipment, radio frequency (RF), treatment of injection, thread lift, etc. for facial sagging. In the
treatment of sagging, it is important to design the face based on anatomical findings and customize the
treatment by fully considering the differences in the age of each patient and the sagging of the face (fat
mass and degree of drooping). The composition of the customized
treatment is based on the strategy of "addition" to increase the volume by injection and "subtraction" to
decrease the volume by HIFU or RF. Thread lift adapts to cases where both treatments are inadequate.
There are two expected effects of HIFU, especially the Superficial Musculoaponeurotic System (SMAS),
which exists in the deep layer outside the cheek, is heat-degenerated to tighten the fascia and form
foundation that is hard to loosen . The second is to promote heat contraction in the subcutaneous fat on
the inside of the cheek and on the face line to reduce or tighten the drooping adipose tissue. It is
important to determine which treatment is suitable for "addition" or "subtraction" according to the facial
appearance by age and symptoms, and design to achieve a well-balanced shape. It is important to use
reproducible diagnostic imaging (Vectra is used for sagging evaluation at this facility) when evaluating
symptoms and deciding a treatment plan. It was Regarding the combination treatment for sagging at our
fasility, we will explain the indications by age and symptoms and the points of face design based on
anatomical findings while viewing the cases.
